QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Frontman Says New Lineup Is Working Out 'Fantastic'
March 28, 2005Launch Radio Networks is reporting that QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE brought its new tour to New York City on Thursday night (March 24),where the band delivered a smoking two-hour performance to a packed Webster Hall. But just a few weeks ago, the group's North American dates were in doubt when frontman Josh Homme got sick and began coughing up blood after a show in France. Homme told Launch, however, that all is well since then. "I feel a lot better," he said. "It's been about three and a half weeks now, so...I had a flu and I had really bad bronchitis, and then I had a French doctor that gave me these things that dried out my sinuses so much that blood was dripping into my throat. And so that's good, because it wasn't from my lungs. It made me take six days off, so that was nice. I haven't done that for a long time."
Homme also told Launch how he feels the latest QUEENS lineup is working out live. "Fantastic. It's been great, been really great," he said. "This incarnation of this band is different for everyone, but that's the main point, is it's just a different thing."
The touring band now consists of Homme, multi-instrumentalist Troy Van Leeuwen, drummer Joey Castillo, bassist Alain Johannes and keyboardist Natasha Shneider.
The new QUEENS album, "Lullabies to Paralyze", arrived in stores last Tuesday.
